My work is more about finding out how the plants work instead of inventing anything new. But people who breed plants could use my work to make their plants better.

My latest invention is a paint that is meant to stop metal from rusting. However, we haven’t finished testing it yet so we don’t know whether it works properly or not yet – we should know soon though so fingers crossed!

I mostly try to understand the materials so we can use them better rather than trying to invent things. Lots of people try without understanding the material, and that never works.

I have invented a few small things for our lab that make things better for me and my work mates, like a small plate that keeps things cool in a box that is completely air tight and can’t hold any water or air.

I’m currently trying to find out about the different chemicals a plant makes and see if they can be used to treat different diseases. My previous work was trying to understand how plants can be broken down into the sugars and other compounds they contain to produce biofuels and other chemicals that can be used in different industries such as food and plastics.
