• Question: which plant do you like to chop up and look under the microscope

      I don’t do much microscope work, but I did enjoy looking at special cells called trichomes that are found on some leaves such as Artemisia. These cells store some of the chemicals it produces.

      I only really chop up one type of plant to look at for my job right now but when I was studying at university I looked at quite a few. I think my current plant is my favourite to look at because the microscope I’m using at the moment gives me some really pretty pictures of what the inside of the root looks like. I think I put some pictures on my profile if you’re interested in seeing what it looks like, I have to dye the roots to see them with the microscope so I get really bright colours
