      A polymer is a certain type of material that is made of lots of very tiny strands of stuff (molecules). They are made by mixing together lots of smaller bits (called monomers) to make the very long strands.

      All plastics are polymers, and so are many other things (such as cotton and wood).

      A polymer is a substance made up of a lot of small chemicals all joined together. The can form very simple structures containing a lot of the same small chemicals or large complex structures made up of a number of different chemicals all joined up together.
