• Question: Is the sun going to be a red giant or a white dwarf when it dies?(Please be red giant?)

      Interesting question! So I am not an expert at this but if I remember my physics correctly then in about 5 billion (5 000 000 000!) years the Sun will grow into a Red Giant. After this, in about 10 billion years it will become a white dwarf and finally will be a black dwarf after 10 million billion (1 000 000 000 000 000) years!

      So the answer is both, red giant and then white dwarf 🙂

      Good questions. Like Jack, what I remember is that is would be a red giant first before becoming a white dwarf.
