I do most of my work alone, but sometimes I will need the help of other scientists and sometimes other scientists will need my help.

Also, I am in an office of 12 other scientists and a lab of about 30 other scientists, so although I am doing my own work most of the time – I am still surrounded by interesting people.

I work a lot of the time alone. But I’m often working around other people within the lab, so it never really feels like I’m alone! We typically all go for coffee at 11am as well, around 10 of us. Also, a lot of my work I discuss with my supervisor or fellow colleagues so I know I’m doing it right or if something seems wrong, so I think science can feel that you’re working alone sometimes but overall its an big effort of working together when you’re all contributing to knowledge in your field.
